Biography

Orysia Lehka was born on February 10, 1970 in Lviv. In 1987-1992, she studied at the Faculty of Philology of the Ivan Franko’s Lviv State University. She received a diploma with honors. Graduated from postgraduate studies at Lviv State University (correspondence form). In 1999, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Erotic novel in poems by Natalya Livytska-Kholodna” (specialty 10.01.01 – Ukrainian literature). She received a diploma of candidate of philological sciences (DC No. 003554), later (2007) a certificate of associate professor (12DC No. 016782). In 2007, the monograph “Life is love. An erotic novel in poems by Natalya Livytska-Kholodna” (Lviv, 2007). Actively deals with the problems of Ukrainian literature of the 20s and 30s of the 20th century. On the basis of scientific research, she compiled and issued methodological recommendations for master’s students of the Ukrainian branch of the Faculty of Philology “Literary Groups of the Interwar Period” (Lviv, 2006). In the circle of scientific interests – problems of emigration literature of the specified period, as well as literary personalities and phenomena of the period of the 40-50s and 60-90s of the 20th century. In addition, she studied literary contacts and mutual influences (in particular, the work of I Franko and writers of the 20s and 30s of the 20th century). This is revealed in many scientific articles and materials.

She repeatedly reviewed methodical manuals and training programs of scientists from other educational institutions.

She was the second opponent in the defense of I. Zelenenko’s PhD thesis “Imaginary system of Taras Melnychuk’s lyrics” (February, 2009). Reviewed a number of candidate and doctoral theses.
