The results of the translation practice of Slovak Studies students

This year, the translation practice of Slovak Studies students lasted from January 19 till February 8 and was very eventful. Thanks to active cooperation with our stakeholder Translation agency “Polyglot” @Бюро перекладів «Поліглот» Slovak Studies students were able to try themselves out as translators, skillfully translating official documents, certificates, authorizations, medical notes, different contracts both in Ukrainian and Slovak. Additionally, together with students from Bohemian, Serbian, and Slovenian Studies, they have listened to interesting lectures from our present and ex-colleagues (Mykola Yarmoliuk, diplomat and translator; Alla Tatarenko, professor and translator; Mariana Klymets, lecturer and translator). The lectures were dedicated to the translations of literary works and the peculiarities of diplomatic interpretation. At the end, in addition to presents from the Translation agency “Polyglot”, we got a present from #TranslatorsInAction since our students and professors from Slovak Studies were actively partaking in Translators forum @lvivtranslatorsforum. It is a game «ПереклаДійсність» (InterpReality), and we will definitely try it out at our department with our students and colleagues.
