On February 16-18, 2022, students of the department of Polish Philology were able to listen to four lectures presented by Kamil Dwornik from the department of Intercultural Studies of Central and Eastern Europe at the University of Warsaw. The lectures attracted the students with their interdisciplinary approach to philology and sparked remarkable interest. At the end of each lecture there were engaging discussions that were related to such topics as demonstration of Polish history and culture in one of the famous computer games (Polska nostalgia za przeszłością w internetowej grze komputerowej Korona Rzeczpospolitej), Polish and Ukrainian ethno-cultural stereotypes in literature (Polsko-ukraińskie stereotypy w powieści Ziemowita Szczerka Przyjdzie Mordor i nas zje, czyli tajna historia Słowian, 2013), one of the new movies of a famous Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi (Modernizacja i przemiany życia codziennego w Galicji w filmie Krzysztofa Zanussiego Eter, 2018), principles of word-play in modern Polish internet memes that, in particular, also have a didactic potential (Satyra i kultura: humor polski w memach fanpage’ów Sztuczne Fiołki i Sekcja gimnastyczna). The lectures were presented as a part of the Erasmus+ program. Kamil Dwornik has visited Polish Studies in Lviv with cycles of lectures numerous times. There are some plans about further development of cooperation between the department of Polish Philology at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the department of Intercultural Studies of Central and Eastern Europe at the University of Warsaw, in particular, during international projects.
