Biography

I was born on February 26, 1964 in Lviv, graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko in 1986, from 1986 to 1990 I worked as a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature in a secondary school, from 1990 to 1993 I studied at a postgraduate course at the Ukrainian Language Department of LNU named after I. Franko. In 1993 I defended my candidate’s thesis on the topic: Lexico-semantic and word-forming structure of geographical names in -ин, -iв (territory of Ukraine, 10th-20th centuries) (Lviv). In 2017 I defended  my doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Stratigraphy of archaic oikonymy of Ukraine”.

Teaching materials

The manual contains tasks for 17 practical lessons in historical phonetics, morphology and syntax, which cover the main topics of the course in historical grammar, as well as brief linguistic and historical commentaries for each of the practical lessons. It also includes model tests on historical phonetics and morphology and a number of scholarly works on the origins and main historical stages in the development of the Ukrainian language. The manual is intended for students of the Philological faculties of universities.
